Jazz for the Tampa Bay Area and Beyond!

Lane Change is a unique instrumental jazz quartet based in Florida's Tampa Bay Area since 1998. We're a group of real live musicians who really enjoy playing jazz and really kick ass every time we do it. We're not as famous as the Rippingtons or the Yellowjackets yet but we're working on it.

Many people ask what kind of jazz we play. Funk? Fusion? Straight Ahead? Latin? Contemporary? Well the answer is quite simply…yes to all the above. We play a variety of different cool stuff. A cornucopia of styles and sounds. You might even hear a tune or two that you wouldn't necessarily think of as jazz at first until you listen to it for a while and then you start to think "Wow man! That's really cool!."

So why the name Lane Change? Well initially because at times I seem like one of those crazy drivers who zig-zags in and out of lanes on the road without regard to safety or property, but then it hit me how well this name works for this band. We're constantly crossing the line. You never know what we're gonna do or where we're gonna go next.
